Arthritis

Arthritis

We treat arthritis involving major joints such as the hip and knee, along with various spinal disorders. These include slipped disc, degenerative spine conditions, muscle weakness, and bone weakness.

We also manage a wide range of sports injuries, including ligament tears, meniscal injuries, patellofemoral instability, rotator cuff tears, and recurrent shoulder dislocations. Patients presenting with sports-related injuries are evaluated and classified into surgical and non-surgical categories.

Arthritis

Non-Surgical Management

The majority of patients, nearly 95%, are treated without surgery. Initial management includes anti-inflammatory medications, adequate rest, and joint support or bracing. Gradually, patients are transitioned to physiotherapy programs aimed at strengthening muscles and improving bone health. Most individuals are expected to return to normal activity levels within three to six weeks.

Surgical Indications in Spine Disorders

In spinal conditions, only about 5% of patients require surgical intervention. Surgery is typically advised in cases of severe slipped disc associated with neurological symptoms such as numbness, limb weakness, or bowel and bladder dysfunction. Spine fractures may also necessitate surgical management.

In most other cases, spinal disorders are effectively managed through conservative treatment methods, including medication, physiotherapy, and lifestyle modifications.
